History
In 971, when the Wyvern Clan entered the fray on the side of Kenneth II and Prince Malcolm, King Culen signaled Lord Valois (through Menteth) to join the battle. Using a spear referred to as Hasta Fatum, Valois unleashed his magic upon the gargoyles. He was stopped when the Archmage (with whom Valois was already familiar) intervened and struck him with a bolt of lightning. Valois dropped the spear and quickly vanished.
