Clones
The Clones are five cloned gargoyles created by Sevarius for Demona and Thailog, to provide Demona with a clan of her own, and Thailog with "flunkies."
History
The idea to create the Clones was Thailog's, Demona simply went along with it. They obtained the DNA necessary for their creation from Demona during the time that she was held prisoner in the Labyrinth, via robotic mosquitos which bit Hudson and the Trio, obtaining gene samples from them and transporting them back to Sevarius at Nightstone Unlimited. From these, Sevarius created the clones known as Burbank, Malibu, Brentwood, and Hollywood. At Thailog's secret request, without Demona's knowledge, he created Delilah from the combined DNA of Demona and Elisa.
The Clones were artificially aged, like Thailog, to bring them into the prime of life equivalent to a human in their mid-twenties, thus making them a little older than the trio, and much younger than Hudson, and generally much tougher when they were pitted against the Manhattan Clan at Coney Island. This rapid aging also accounts for their odd skin and hair pigmentation. At Sevarius' advice, Thailog kept their programming simple, merely instructing them to obey him. With their help, he and Demona defeated Goliath and his clan at the Coney Island Amusement Park, but after Demona freed the clan to save Angela from Thailog, the Clones were defeated. After Thailog's apparent death in the roller-coaster fire, the Clones were left without any direction; Talon decided to take them under his care at the Labyrinth, where he and the other Mutates could teach them to think for themselves (and use verbs) ("The Reckoning").
Not long after, Thailog invaded the Labyrinth, ostensibly to retrieve his "property," and initially the male clones obeyed his orders. In the end however, only Brentwood willingly chose to join Thailog permanently, while the others chose to return to the Labyrinth and live with the Mutates ("Masque", "Bash"). These four gargoyles would form the basis of the Labyrinth Clan.
The descendants of the clones will still be around by 2198. Around that time it is rumored that further clones have been created in the Labyrinth.
Timeline
1996. July 14. While on a stakeout, Brooklyn is the first to be bitten by a robotic mosquito that samples his DNA. Demona allows herself to be captured by Goliath, Angela, and Brooklyn in order to implement her plan with Thailog. ("The Reckoning")
July 15. Demona is imprisoned in the Labyrinth next to a cell by Fang. Elisa is bitten by a robotic mosquito that samples her DNA. ("The Reckoning")
July 16. Lexington is bitten by a robotic mosquito that samples his DNA. The mosquito returns to Sevarius at Nightstone Unlimited, reavealing Thailog's plan to create the Clones. ("The Reckoning")
July 17. Hudson is bitten by a robotic mosquito that samples his DNA.
July 19. Broadway is bitten by a robotic mosquito that samples his DNA.
August 18. Sevarius completes his part in Thailog's project. Thailog begins programming the clones. ("The Reckoning")
October 12. Goliath goes to the Labyrinth to guard the prisoners when Thailog arrives and busts out Demona and Fang. They lure Talon and the Manhattan Clan to a fun house at Coney Island, where the gargoyles first encounter their full-grown clones: Burbank, Malibu, Brentwood, and Hollywood. ("The Reckoning")
October 13. The gargoyles are defeated by their clones and held prisoner. When Demona doesn't allow Thailog to kill Angela, he reveals the clone hybrid he made in secret, Delilah, from the combined DNA of Demona and Elisa. Enraged, Demona releases the clan and Talon and a battle breaks out. The clones and Fang are beaten, and when it appears that Thailog has been killed in a fire, Talon offers to let the clones join his clan in the labyrinth, creating the Labyrinth Clan. October 31. At Elisa's insistance, Goliath goes to the labyrinth to ask Delilah on a date to Xanatos' Halloween Masque. They leave before Thailog attacks the Labyrinth and reclaims the male clones. They arrive at the Eyrie Building during the party and corner Goliath. While waiting for Delilah to arrive, Thailog stabs Goliath in the abdomen with a dagger. ("Invitation Only", "Masque")
November 1. A fight breaks out between the Manhattan clan and the clones. During the battle, Thailog collects blood samples from the eight members of the clan. Delilah arrives, effectively ending the battle, and she rejects Thailog. Malibu, Hollywood, and Burbank return with her to the Labyrinth, but Brentwood elects to stay with Thailog. Thailog gives the blood samples to Sevarius. ("Bash")
