This word may refer to the actual Mayan Pyramid the clan inhabits, but more likely it is meant to indicate the area around the pyramid, or the location of the pyramid. ("The Green")
Real World Background
The name ChacIxChel appears to contain the names of two Mayan gods, although this could be a coincidence. Chac Is the Mayan rain god, while Ix Chel is the Mayan Moon goddess.
