The story follows a young girl named Alice as she discovers and explores a fantasy world of anthropomorphic animals. It was followed up by ''Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There'' in 1871. The two novels were later adapted by Walt Disney Featured Animation in 1951 as ''Alice in Wonderland''.
