Cormac Maccarthy was an Irish ally of Robert the Bruce at the Battle of Bannockburn.
History
To thank Cormac for his aid in the battle, Robert the Bruce is said to have given him a piece of the Stone of Destiny. Cormac took it back with him to Ireland, where it became the Blarney Stone.
