A Silver Hammer is an award the Quarrymen give out at their rallies to members who have earned them. John Castaway promised to give one to Maxwell at their next rally. It can be safely assumed that after Castaway went to jail, Maxwell never got his Silver Hammer. ("Angels in the Night")
