Real World Background
Lance is based on a real bull terrier that Nate Cosby sees in his neighborhood on a regular basis. Lance is owned by Nicole Licht, a freelance art director and designer from Brooklyn. Nate was inspired by Lance's distinctive colors and walk and chose to feature him in the Gargoyles comic book. [1]
