History
At some point, the human Isaac Christians entered into a mystical pact to protect his hometown that resulted in his soul being permanently transferred to the re-animated body of a dead gargoyle. Until the public revelation of the Manhattan Clan, he was known as the "the Gargoyle".
By the "present day", Isaac had been captured by the rogue alchemist Diablo who had planned to use Isaac’s gargoyle blood for his Elixir Vitae. However, Isaac’s undead state rendered his blood "spoiled" and thus useless for the alchemist's purposes.
