The character of Egon Pax's name was said exactly fifty-six times in the episode (as it was typed above), by Dr. Nexus in an attempt to brainwash Goliath into hating and killing him. The method was surprisingly effective as many "Gargoyles" fans have also come to hate the character.
"Pax" is the Latin word for "peace" - which explains why the production team chose it for the surname of a peace-seeking statesman.
