I've a strong suspicion that Mack Kemp was named after Will Kemp, a major comic actor in Shakespeare's company (thought to have played Nick Bottom and Falstaff; he later broke with Shakespeare and morris danced from London to Norwich as a publicity stunt). However, I'm uncertain about including that in the "Real Life Background" since we don't know for certain that Greg Weisman had him in mind (I recall posting a speculation that Quincy Heming waws named after Sally Heming, and it was correctly dropped as too big a speculation). What do the rest of you think?
