Production background

Belushi's name is a reference to Jim Belushi, the voice actor for Fang. Also, during the development of Gargoyles as a TV series, Belushi was considered as a name for the gargoyle that eventually became Broadway. Given that every celebrity hockey player is named after a voice actor, the name is almost certainly intended to refer to Jim Belushi.
