Joe the Doorman

Joe the Doorman worked at an apartment building in Manhattan and, like most of the city's population, was turned to stone by Demona. He's worked the job for at least fifteen years, and was considered a sweet old guy who never drank on the job except a nip here and there when it was exceptionally cold. ("City of Stone" Short Story)
