Name
So, its subtle, but when our not-so-friendly neighborhood dragon flipped out about the humans in DA#5: "Humans on my land! On Wyvern's Hill!" I do think that fit the parameters of Wyvern's name not getting the quote-treatment like we do with script-only names like "Desdemona" and "Sacrifice", because the name was mentioned in-universe, like Mentor and Antiope. I've been actually mulling over how to incorporate that detail on the Wyvern Hill page, since the dragon incorporated a possessive that's been (apparently) long-since forgotten. --Pheon (talk) 15:37, 7 February 2024 (PST)
Excalibur
So I was curious . . . is it a given that by being found in a dragon's hoard an item is stolen? Dragon tropes aside, there is a big span of time between Arthur's defeat at Camlann (where he likely last had the Excalibur) and the sword being found deep in a Scottish cavern. For comparison, I recently added to the timeline for the year 542, "Between now and 971, the sword Excalibur finds itself in the dragon Wyvern's hoard in Scotland." Is it also possible for the sword [an item] to be bartered, offered, lost and found, scavenger's rights, etc.? Am I just being overly cautious/overthinking this? If stolen seems accurate for everyone, then I'm ok with it; I will admit having not read as many dragon tales as others might have. --Pheon (talk) 00:29, 13 March 2024 (PDT)
Okay, this discussion is definitely not that pertinent. Having just reread "The Pledge", I caught where Fleur describes the sword as stolen. At least there's some character's account of that, however accurate the story behind that account is (that's more of me curious about Greg Weisman's plans about the Battle of Camlann and its aftermath than anything else). But I'm still curious if we should presume the entire hoard stolen, with the possible alternatives mentioned above. --Pheon (talk) 20:07, 14 March 2024 (PDT)
