ChacIxChel - The home of the Mayan Clan of gargoyles in Guatemala.
This word may refer to the actual Mayan Pyramid the clan inhabits, but more likely it is meant to indicate the area around the pyramid, or the location of the pyramid.
Real World Background
Chac, otherwise known as Chaac or Chaak, is the original Yucatec name of the Maya rain deity. With his lightning axe, Chaac strikes the clouds and produces thunder.
Ixchel or Ix Chel is the 16th-century name of the aged jaguar goddess of midwifery and medicine in the ancient Mayan culture. She was often depicted with a snake in her hair and crossbones embroidered on her skirt.
