The Porter was stationed at the gate of a hillfort not far from Wyvern Hill when Mary and Finella came to seek refuge for the night under the guise as pilgrims. He almost let the two of them in, but was stopped by one of King Constantine's men, who recognized the two women from an edict posted on the gate wall. ("The Gate")
