Talk:Stone Sleep
When did we find out about the purging toxins? Last I heard, that was just an unsubstantiated fan hypothesis about gargoyle bathroom functions. I missed the mention of it in #7. -- Vaevictis Asmadi 19:34, 12 December 2007 (CST)
That mention was not in Issue #7, it was way back in "Awakening" when Goliath's stone sleep purged his body of the concoction in the dart that the Xanatos Goon Squad shot at him. It made him all weak and sleepy, but stone sleep completely took it away. Elisa said, "That {something I don't remember} seems to have worn off." And Goliath says, "Sleep rejuvenates us." --Matt 20:46, 12 December 2007 (CST)
- Ah.
"Stone sleep is not activated by sunlight coming into contact with gargoyles, even though it appears to be that way. Instead, it comes about via the gargoyle's internal biological clock tied into the Earth's bio-rhythms, so that even if a gargoyle is kept in a completely dark room during the daytime, cut off entirely from the sun, he or she will still become stone - although the transformation may be delayed slightly."
This paragraph is marked CiT, but from The Silver Falcon and The Rock, I think some of it at least is canon. -- Vaevictis Asmadi 15:31, 19 December 2007 (CST)
