Abu Jafar Ahmad Ibn Yusuf Ibn Al-Kammad
Abu Jafar Ahmad Ibn Yusuf Ibn Al-Kammad was an archivist in the court of Isaac Angelos.
History
Abu Jafar Ahmad Ibn Yusuf Ibn Al-Kammad was a scholar from Córdoba summoned to Constantinople to act as the archivist for Isaac Angelos. His true passion, however, was astronomy and as a believer in horoscopes, Demona used this knowledge to befriend him (using the name Angel) and explained her youth despite her age by lying to Al-Kammad with the claim that gargoyle lifespans depended on the position the stars were in when they hatched. As they gazed at the stars together, Demona swiped the Eye of Odin and replaced it with a forgery. She left soon after, flattering the human by telling him she had found their exchange quite enlightening. Al-Kammad flattered "Angel" back by telling her that he believed she was aptly named.
Later that evening, Al-Kammad was murdered, and the fake Eye of Odin was stolen. Both Demona and a visiting Scotsman were accused of the crime. But an old friend of Al-Kammad's, Shahrizad and Angelika teamed up to figure out who the actual murderer was. (Fallen From the Ranks...|"Fallen From the Ranks...")

Real World Background
Abu Jafar Ahmad Ibn Yusuf Ibn Al-Kammad was an actual historical figure. A Muslim-Arab born in Seville, Al-Andalus, he is known to have been educated in Cordoba by the students of Al-Zarqali. An astrological work of his, Kitāb Mafātīḥ alasrār, (in which he states the duration of pregnancy depended on the horoscope) is also attributed to him and was strongly criticized by Ibn al‐Haim al‐Ishbili in the latter's al Zīj al kāmil (c.1205). Clearly Demona was familiar with his theory and used a version of it to explain her physical youth despite her age.
