- For the character you're actually looking for, see Elisa Maza
Eliza with a 'Z' is not a Gargoyles character, you mean Elisa, don't you? Elisa with an 'S' For the character that you are looking for, see Elisa Maza.
History
When visiting Goliath in Rikers Island, and discussing character witnesses; Tobe Crest referred to Elisa Maza as "Eliza". Goliath quickly corrected him. ("Everywhere")
Real World Background
Greg Weisman has been astonished by many long time Gargoyles fans inability to properly pronounce Elisa's name; more so because most of the time, they're hearing it on the show, not something they're reading. So when they hear it, and still call the character by a completely different name, and how widespread it seems to be, he felt compelled to place it into an issue of the comic book and have Goliath correct the character who said it, and the fans who do it.
