Pier 13 is one of many docks on Manhattan Island. It is situated on the East River.
History
In 1996, it was one the sites of Goliath and Hudson's battle with Wolf and his ancestor, the ghost of Hakon. ("Vendettas")
Real World Background
First built in the 19th Century, it was located on the Lower East Side, directly on the cross streets of South Street and Wall Street. [1] Originally a shipping port, much like its depiction in the series, "Vendettas" would feature an anachronistic pier given that, from the 1950s to the early 2000s, it became the sight of dome-covered tennis courts for the Wall Street Racquet Club. It was during this time that Pier 13's courts were depicted in the 1977 film, Annie Hall. [2][3] By 2002, there were plans to build an extention of the Guggenheim Museum, but the project was ultimately abandoned and Pier 13 was demolished in 2007. [4]
