One great way to find out how something is done, is to find a page that has it and use the edit function (without changing anything, of course) to read the source code on the page. I do that a lot, if I want to learn how to do something. Often I copy and paste the code itself. [[User:Vaevictis Asmadi|Vaevictis Asmadi]] 10:33, 18 May 2007 (CDT)

Heya, Todd. There's two ways to sign your name after a comment. First, you type out four tildes, like this: <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>. Or there's a button at the top of the edit window, that looks like this http://gargoyles.dracandros.com/w/skins/common/images/button_sig.png, and if you press the button it will add four tildes for you. When you save, the four tildes will turn into a link to your user page, followed by a timestamp (if you don't want to include the timestamp, you can type three tildes instead). If you want to do clever things (like making the signature say something other than "Merlyn", e.g. your name), then I suggest you have a look at [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Preferences#Your_nickname this Wikipedia help page]. Hope that helps! -- [[User:Supermorff|Supermorff]] 07:28, 25 May 2008 (CDT)

To Matt: sorry about the absence of links. I don't know as yet how to make them, so I've been putting up the basic information, which I *do* know how to do.

It's cool. I don't know how to do a lot of stuff on this site either. Thanks for helping out here, didn't mean to sound like you were causing problems. This is a group effort afterall, I don't think anyone should want or expect to get an entry perfect all by themselves. -- Matt
