The Coldstream Guards were stationed at the Coldstream Bridge during the 1996 transport of the Stone of Destiny from England to Scotland.
History
Shortly after ten in the morning on November 15, the Coldstream Guards held up a transport convoy to determine if the shoebox left on the bridge was a threat or not. After calling a bomb squad and about a half hour delay, the guards discovered that the shoebox was empty and allowed the convoy to pass without incident. ("The Rock", "Rock & Roll", "Rock of Ages")
Production Background
The guards were identified as "Coldstream Guards" in the 2008 Radio Play script. [1]
