Real World Background

Replacing an older station built in 1871, Grand Central Station was designed by Architects Charles A. Reed and Allen H. Stem and built in 1913. The southern façade on 42nd Street features the Glory of Commerce which has, left-to-right, Hercules, Mercury, and Minerva situated around a thirteen-foot clock. The Roman figures were sculpted by Jules-Félix Coutan.
