History

In October 1195 AD, while visiting Constantinople, Shahrizad told Isaac Angelos the story of Youhanna Al Diyab - a boy who lived in Khaifang. ("Fallen From the Ranks...")

Real World Background

The original tale of Aladdin was not set in the fictional city of Agrabah, but rather an ancient city in China.
