Elizabeth Angela Marguerite Bowes-Lyon (1900 - 2002) was the Queen of the United Kingdom from 1936 until the death of her husband, King George VI in 1952. Elizabeth became known as the "Queen Mother" to avoid confusion when her daughter ascended the throne as Queen Elizabeth II.
In 1996, Griff referred to her as the Queen Mum. ("Pendragon")
