Stone Golem
Stone Golems are enchanted sculptures that become animated to do their maker's bidding.
History
It is unclear if there is a specific incantation required for their creation, but over the course of several months in 1138, the stonemason Blaise Reynard fueled his talent from the visions he craved. The result was two Stone Golems sculpted from two solid block of stone which he would later name Grimalkin and Satyre for the Vyones Cathedral. Stone was not the only ingredient involved, but Reynard's own blood as well, thanks to the cuts he endured when his hand was struck between his hammer and chisel. When the gargoyle Demona later confronted Reynard for the magic she recognized, the sculptor claimed to also being a practitioner of the Dark Arts.
Reynard's own death did not stop the magical automatons, and Demona was resolved to destroy the imitation gargoyles with a hammer. ("For Not Everything With Wings...")
Characteristics
Not only could Reynard's Stone Golems move, but they were capable of speaking, growling, and laughing. Their wills were not of their own, however, but tied to their creator's unspoken desires (specifically, from Reynard's anger for the townsfolk of Vyones and his wife Heloise and his lust for the tavernmaid, Nicolette Villom).
