Prospero is a human wizard immortalized by William Shakespeare in his play The Tempest. As of 1996, he is still alive [1].

After breaking his staff, Prospero "found reason" to take up magic again [2]. Greg Weisman has also hinted that he might be interested in helping a gargoyle and a human conceive a child [3].

He has a daughter named Miranda, who may or may not still be alive. He was also once the master of Caliban and Ariel.
