Czech Republic
The Czech Republic (Česká Republika) is a landlocked country in Europe. The capital is Prague.
Real World Background
The region was identified as Bohemia as early as the 14th Century. By 1918, it formed the western half of Czechoslovakia. After its occupation by Nazi Germany during World War II, it eventually fell under the influence of Soviet Russia. It broke away from Slovakia in 1992 to form the Czech Republic. In 2016, the Czech federal government recommended 'Czechia' be the English version of their country name, now since since adopted into use by the United Nations. [1]
