Disney's Gargoyles Cinestory is an adaptation of the five-part "Awakening" using screen captures from the original animation. [1] It was announced to be released by Joe Books Ltd. on March 30th, 2016; then on May 4th, 2016; then on July 12th, 2016; then on May 17th, 2017; and then on September 27, 2017.

It was finally revealed that the cinestory was quietly cancelled on an unknown date after Gargoyles fan, Greg Bishansky, spent some time asking them on twitter for more information. [2]

Description

One thousand years ago, superstition and the sword ruled. It was a time of darkness. It was a world of fear. It was the age of gargoyles. Stone by day, warriors by night, the gargoyles were betrayed by the humans they had sworn to protect and were frozen in stone for a thousand years. Now, in Manhattan, the spell is broken, and they live again. They are defenders of the night. They are Gargoyles! Forward by series creator Greg Weisman. [3]
