- "The Edge" (Mentioned Only As "The President")
- "Bash" (Mentioned Only As "Leader of the Free World")
Real World Background
Bill Clinton was the forty-second President of the United States of America (1993-2001). In 1998, he was also the second President to be impeached after Andrew Johnson for committing perjury. His wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, was the Secretary of State in the first Barack Obama administration and was the 2016 Democratic nominee for President.
Production Background
President Clinton was never identified by name within the Gargoyles animated series or Gargoyles comic book. Greg Weisman explained that he wanted to keep the position somewhat vague so he "wouldn't have to decide." In general, he wrote that "I'd tend to lean toward keeping it more real.". [2][3] With the comic book's White House events taking place in 1996, it is obvious who the President is.
