The Bow Bridge is an iconic bridge that spans the Lake south of Belvedere Castle in Central Park.
History
The Bow Bridge was in the distance when, in 1996, Arthur Pendragon called upon the Lady of the Lake in his search for Excalibur. ("Pendragon")
Real World Background
Like much of Central Park, it was built in 1862 and designed by Calvert Vaux and Jacob Wrey Mould. It was renovated in both 1974 and in 2024; most recently the deck was replaced with a more durable wood for the pedestrian path. It is curious that a Child of Oberon would reside so close to it, given that it is the oldest cast-iron bridge in Central Park. [1]
