The iron chains were conjured by the Magus to defeat the Weird Sisters.

History
In 1995, the Archmage laid siege to the mystical island of Avalon. While he battled Goliath and sent his foot soldiers (an enchanted Demona and Macbeth) to attack the Avalon Clan, he directed the Weird Sisters to dispatch the Sleeping King. When the Weird Sisters arrived at the Hollow Hill, they confronted the Magus – who tapped into Avalon's mystical energies to transform the Hollow Hill's Enchanted Suits of Armor into chains to bind the Weird Sisters. After the Archmage was defeated, Goliath waited until the Weird Sisters released Demona and Macbeth from their enchantments before the gargoyle freed them from the Magus's restraints. The iron chains were later melted down to help forge the Iron Bell to defeat Oberon. ("Ill Met By Moonlight")
