Featured ArticleGoliath's Hearing was a legal proceeding that occurred in 1997. It was initiated by the reveal of gargoyles to the human world the previous year and the capture of a live gargoyle, Goliath, by the Gargoyles Taskforce. The New York City Criminal Court conducted the hearing to determine if gargoyles were to be considered legally sentient and should possess human rights. Travis Marshall called it the "Hearing of the Century". Goliath's Hearing was a critical event in the history of human-gargoyle relations with far-ranging consequences for the Manhattan Clan and others. Presided over by Judge Ian Roebling, the hearing was debated between Assistant District Attorney Margot Yale and Goliath's legal representative Tobe Crest.
