Gatwick Airport
Gatwick Airport is one of two major airports in London.
History
On November 3rd, 1996, Macbeth arrived in the United Kingdom with Hudson and Lexington, who were asleep in wooden crates. Exiting his jet on the tarmac, he declared to the British Customs Officers that the apparent statues were "works of art" for his home in Berkeley Square. ("The Rock")
Real World Background
First designated an airspace in 1933, the field became a military installation during World War II known as RAF Gatwick. It returned to civilian operations by 1958. Today, London Gatwick (LGW) is the second-most used airport in the United Kingdom, after London Heathrow (LHR).
Production Background
The airport is not explicitly named in the comic. Greg Weisman, however, clarified on Ask Greg which airport Macbeth flew to. [1]
