I like the idea of going with the color for the background of Greg's responses at Ask Greg, since that's we're getting all the C-i-T info from. However, I can't figure out exactly what color that is (maybe someone else can find out?), so I'll list some colors that look good, and we can vote on these or other colors.
Royal Purple
Generic Purple
Electric Purple
Purple (HTML)
Internet Purple
Electric Indigo
Blue Violet

- I think the green color from Greg's rambles would be too close to the color of clicked links.
