Cleopatra's Needle is an Egyptian obelisk standing in Central Park, near the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
History
Goliath and Elisa briefly battled Demona at Cleopatra's Needle when she attempted to steal Titania's Mirror from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. ("The Mirror")
Later, Broadway and Elisa went there in their search for Matt Bluestone when he had gone missing. Elisa met Martin Hacker there for the first time and she and Broadway fought some of Anthony Dracon's men, leaving two handcuffed to the obelisk, while a third managed to escape. ("The Silver Falcon")
Real World Background
Contrary to its name, it is not a needle and has no connection to Cleopatra, having originally been erected around 1475 BC by the Egyptian pharaoh, Thutmose III. Additional inscriptions were later added by pharaoh Rameses II some two hundred years later. It was removed from modern-day Cairo and relocated to New York City in 1881. Cleopatra's Needle is, in fact, one of a pair of obelisks that share the same (modern) name; the second was relocated to London in 1877.
