Dragon Man (also known as Draconus) is an android built in the shape of an enormous, anthropomorphic dragon.
History
At an unknown point, Draconus’s benevolent programming — once intended to tutor and protect Franklin and Valeria Richards — was scrambled, and the Dragon Man eventually came into the custody of Tony Stark. After making a deal with Diablo, David Xanatos infiltrated Stark Industries and stole the pod containing Draconus, delivering it to Diablo’s lair. The alchemist released the android and used Draconus to keep the Manhattan Clan and the Fantastic Four at bay until Lexington employed the Fantasticar’s electromagnetic pulse to disable him. Draconus was subsequently returned to the Baxter Building, where Reed Richards believed he could restore the android’s benevolent programming. ("Both Alike In Dignity...")

Dragon Man was created by Jack Kirby.
The first Dragon Man was an android created by Professor Gregson Gilbert of Empire State University as part of an experimental attempt to create artificial life. Gilbert struggled to animate the creature until the alchemist Diablo intervened, using his supernatural powers to bring the android to life under his partial control. However, Dragon Man soon broke free of Diablo’s influence and turned on his creator. Although slow-minded and incapable of speech, Dragon Man could understand commands and proved to be a formidable opponent of the Fantastic Four. Despite his violent tendencies, he often showed a gentle, almost King Kong-like affection toward Sue Richards. Dragon Man was not inherently malicious, but he was easily manipulated and provoked into combat. Later, Dragon Man was upgraded by Valeria Richards and became a member of Reed Richards’ Future Foundation.
