Welcome to GargWiki, your guide to the world of Gargoyles. The primary focus of the wiki is the Gargoyles Universe as envisioned by Greg Weisman, which includes the first two seasons of Gargoyles and the new comic book and the spin-offs being published by Slave Labor Graphics. Information from the TV and SLG comics series can be found in the Canon category.

Over the past decade, Greg Weisman has revealed many secrets and plans he had for the Gargoyles Universe including spin-offs and new characters. Entries on these revelations are located in the Canon-in-training category.

Some canon entries contain text written in bold, blue type. This signifies, for easy distinction, Canon-in-training material in a primarily Canon entry.

Finally, the Apocrypha category is dedicated to non-canon Gargoyles material, such as The Goliath Chronicles, the Marvel Comic, the Disney Adventures comic and the Sega Genesis videogame.

Goliath's Hearing was a legal proceeding that occurred in 1997. It was initiated by the reveal of gargoyles to the human world the previous year and the capture of a live gargoyle, Goliath, by the Gargoyles Taskforce. The New York City Criminal Court conducted the hearing to determine if gargoyles were to be considered legally sentient and should possess human rights. Travis Marshall called it the "Hearing of the Century".

Goliath's Hearing was a critical event in the history of human-gargoyle relations with far-ranging consequences for the Manhattan Clan and others. Presided over by Judge Ian Roebling, the hearing was debated between Assistant District Attorney Margot Yale and Goliath's legal representative Tobe Crest. An array of testimonies were taken from individuals including John Castaway, Halcyon Renard, Elisa Maza, and Goliath himself. (more...)
