The East River flows between Manhattan and Long Island. Roosevelt and Rikers Island lie in the stretch of the river that separates the boroughs of Manhattan and Queens. The United Nations Headquarters and LaGuardia Airport both face the East River from their respective islands.
Production Background
An early draft of "Awakening: Part Three" had Elisa Maza mutter under her breath, "Good thing we weren't facing East" after Hudson took his name from the Hudson River. [1]
