History
He was in the building that day when an explosion (and subsequent fire) injured and later killed his neighbor, Mr. Fletcher. Mario later attended his funeral, and with the rest of the tenants blamed their landlord, Mr. Huxley, for his role in neglecting the upkeep of 601 Amsterdam Avenue.
When Broadway took it upon himself to reopen Elisa Maza's cold missing persons case, he attempted to interview Mario, the tenant in 3A (and his sixth suspect). But the interview was cut short by Mario's two boys, Aiter and Zacarias. The gargoyle was only able to confirm that Mr. Huxley disappeared.
While watching his boys play out in the snow, Mario witnessed not only the arrival of Goliath and Elisa Maza, but also the revelation that the long-since missing Mr. Fletcher had quietly returned as the building's super, Clarence. He and his boys were also astonished to learn that Clarence had signed the building over to his former tenants. ("Stone Cold Case")
