The Park Manor Hotel appears to be based on the famous Plaza Hotel located on 5th Avenue and 58th Street in Manhattan. The Plaza opened in 1907 and is considered a historical landmark. It has appeared in numerous movies and television shows such as North by Northwest, The Way We Were, Love At First Bite and more. Coincidentally, just as the Park Manor attracts those bent towards criminality in the Gargoyles Universe, the Plaza was briefly owned from 1988 until 1995 by a future convicted felon who appeared in the movie: Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
