Hudson watching Celebrity Hockey while Bronx naps.

Celebrity Hockey is a television sports program which Hudson is particularly fond of.

History

Hudson was first seen watching Celebrity Hockey at the Clock Tower in 1995. His favorite team are the B-Players. ("A Lighthouse in the Sea of Time") [1]

In 1996, while staying at the Casablanca Hotel, Dingo watched a New Year's Eve Marathon of Celebrity Hockey. By 1997, Gnash also enjoyed the program and would watch it with Hudson (who had all the "best episodes" video-taped). ("Estranged", "Idyll or Nightmare")

Production Background

Ten Celebrity Hockey players are mentioned by name in "Estranged": Bader, Belushi, Bennett, Cleverdon, Cumming, Cummings, Devane, Easton, Spiner, and Tagawa. They are all named after Gargoyles voice actors, although two (William Devane and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) only appeared in the Bad Guys leica reel and not in any episodes of the series. Considering the name of the show, it is possible that all of these characters are meant to be Gargoyles Universe versions of the voice actors themselves, although this is not clear.

Characters voiced by each of these actors appeared in "Estranged", with the exception of Brent Spiner, who voiced Puck, and was thus presumably included because of the dual-meaning of the word 'puck' in the situation.

Tidbits

In issue #18 of Young Justice, Dick Grayson, Wally West, and Artemis Crock are watching the game. ("Monkey Business") [2]

Celebrity Hockey is also referenced in the third issue of The Spectacular Spider-Men, with the Yancy Street Gang facing off against the Fantastic Four. ("Meanwhile...")
