Dauid was the youngest son of Malcolm Canmore, and Margaret. He is the half-brother of Paul and Erlend Thorfinnson, Donnchad, and Donald Canmore and the brother of Edward, Edmund, Edelred, Edgar, Alexandair, Edith, and Mary.
History
In 1093, King Malcolm III commanded his sons to journey with him to Northumbria, pointing out that he was Dauid's age when he accompanied his father, Duncan, into battle. Dauid had nothing to say about the sacking of Alnwick that he participated in, and, with his father and brothers, massacred the sleeping Northumbria Clan.
After Malcolm III and Edward's death, a civil war broke out between Donalbain and Donnchad, who both claimed the crown. Dauid fled to England with Edgar and Alexandair. ("Fools Rush In...")
