"The Thrill of the Hunt" is the sixth televised episode of the series Gargoyles, and the sixth episode of Season 1.

Summary

Tidbits

Alone among the cast of Gargoyles, Fox's voice actor (Laura San Giacomo) was never listed in the ending credits. This was because Laura's agent feared that her acting career could be hindered if it was known that she had done voice acting on an animated series.

During Owen's conversation with Xanatos at the end, a prison guard is present in the room. One hopes that he wasn't listening too closely...

Continuity

Dingo's remark about being enough out of shape that he "wouldn't last a week in a Central American war" takes on a new meaning in "The Green", where a couple of Pack members (though not Dingo) do take part in a "Central American war", of a sort.

For the first time, Elisa suggests that the gargoyles move out of the Eyrie Building, which is still owned by Xanatos. They will eventually do so in "Enter Macbeth".

This episode introduces the Pack and sets up Lexington's animosity towards them, which will continue in later episodes to feature the characters.

Hudson's comment at the end of this episode, that "We shouldn't believe everything we see on television", is turned back on him by Angela in the episode "Hunter's Moon" Part One.

Fox and Wolf are sent to prison at the end of this episode. They will remain there until "Leader of the Pack" in the second season.

Billy, Susan and their mother are introduced in this episode. Billy and Susan are fans of the Pack, which is referenced later in "Masque". Their mother's concern over the gargoyles scaring her children will lead her to join the Quarrymen in "Nightwatch".
