Edmund Ironside

Edmund Ironside was King of England in 1016.

History

When his father Aethelred the Unready died on April 23rd, 1016, England was left with two pretenders to the throne: the English Edmund, or the Danish Canute. [1]

Ironside died later that year on November 30th, and was succeeded as King of England by Canute. [2]
