Paul Thorfinnson
Paul Thorfinnson was the son of Thorfinn and Ingibjorg. With his elder brother, Erlend Thorfinnson, Paul was Earl of Orkney. Paul was also the half-brother of Donnchad and Donald Canmore, and the step-brother of Edward, Edmund, Edelred, Edgar, Alexandair, Mary, Edith, and Dauid.
History
Paul and Erlend declined to accompany their step-father, Malcolm III, to Northumbria in 1093, insisting they were needed at home in Orkney. ("Fools Rush In...")

Real World Background
Paul and his brother Erlend fought alongside King Harald Hardraada at the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066.
Before their deaths in 1098, Paul and Erland were deposed as Earls of Orkney by King Magnus Olafsson, and the title was given to Magnus's son, Sigurd Magnusson.
