Voices from the Eyrie - A Gargoyles Podcast

Voices from the Eyrie is a Gargoyles-themed podcast, hosted by Jennifer L. Anderson and Greg Bishansky. It features many people involved in the making of Gargoyles as guests – including Greg Weisman as a frequent guest.


History

Voices from the Eyrie - Live!

The podcast premiered on September 23, 2021 just as the property began to return to the public eye after two years of being streamed on Disney+ and as new merchandise started to be licensed, marketed, and released.

Throughout their first year, the podcast was recorded on Skype and only available in audio. After a successful first year, they upgraded their equipment and switched over to recording on Zoom which offered greater sound quality and video editions that they've posted on Patreon.

When Gargoyles returned to comic books in December of 2022, a new segment was started called "News and First Impressions".

On July 5th, 2024, they performed their live podcast in the Nicollet Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis, Minnesota at CONVergence, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the series. The live podcast was streamed on YouTube. [1] [2]

The podcast typically deep dives into individual episodes of Gargoyles, though a few have been overviews of the series or certain elements of it. Discussion relating to new Gargoyles merchandise and initial reactions to the latest issues of the comic series by Dynamite Entertainment are frequently opening segments of the podcast.

Each episode of the podcast is opened with narration by Shahrizad as voiced by actress, Zehra Fazal, featuring the character's signature: "The story is told – though who can say if it be true – . . ." Every instance of "News and First Impressions" is book-ended by Travis Marshall opening and closing Nightwatch.

The podcast is hosted on the Spidey-Dude Radio Network, which features a variety of other podcasts including The Spectacular Radio Podcast dedicated to The Spectacular Spider-Man animated series, which was also co-hosted by Bishansky and featured Greg Weisman and Jennifer L. Anderson as guests among other members of the cast and crew. [3]
